Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has put forward the idea that Manchester United should contemplate appointing Roberto De Zerbi as Erik ten Hag’s potential successor.
With a series of disappointing outcomes, Ten Hag is currently feeling the heat at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, De Zerbi has notably rejuvenated Brighton since taking over the managerial reins in 2022.
Collymore shared his perspective with GIVEMESPORT, suggesting that De Zerbi has the necessary attributes to steer the Red Devils. He views De Zerbi as a top-tier coach and an ideal match for the managerial position.
“The club needs a specific kind of leader, and amidst various plausible contenders, one name stands out to me. Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton and Hove Albion to Manchester United? Certainly! Despite Brighton’s recent performance not meeting expectations, De Zerbi’s track record speaks volumes,” Collymore commented.
“Not only does he possess exceptional coaching acumen, but he also exhibits the personality and interpersonal skills required for the job.”
