Jadon Sancho seems on the brink of departing Manchester United temporarily, eyeing a loan move to Borussia Dortmund. The situation, as relayed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, suggests that negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, awaiting approval for Sancho’s trip to Dortmund’s winter training camp.

Having left Dortmund for Manchester United in 2021 for €85 million following a remarkable stint at Signal Iduna Park, the 23-year-old English talent flourished, netting 50 goals and contributing 64 assists in 137 appearances.

Despite his promising start, Sancho’s Premier League tenure faltered. A fallout with manager Erik ten Hag in September led to his exclusion from the first-team squad. Despite requests to apologize and regain his spot, he declined, resulting in zero game time since the incident.

A January departure seemed inevitable, and now, a six-month loan return to Borussia Dortmund appears imminent. Although transfer expert Romano indicates that the deal isn’t yet finalized, preparations for Sancho’s move to Dortmund’s camp in Marbella are underway. The negotiation’s final stages revolve around a fee of around €4 million, covering the loan and salary aspects.

Dortmund’s current winter training camp in Marbella includes friendly matches against AZ Alkmaar on January 6 and Standard Liege on January 9, preceding their Bundesliga return match against Darmstadt on January 13.
