Manchester United icon David de Gea has reached a decision regarding his future, and recent reports indicate that he may be considering joining one of two prominent clubs.
De Gea, aged 33, departed Manchester United last summer when his contract expired. Despite the Red Devils initially attempting to negotiate a contract extension with reduced wages, they withdrew their offer at the last minute and proposed even lower terms. Feeling disheartened by United’s negotiation tactics, De Gea ultimately left the club as a free agent.

However, nearly eight months later, the legendary goalkeeper remains without a club. Nottingham Forest reportedly expressed interest in signing him in January, and there were murmurs of a potential move to Newcastle following Nick Pope’s injury in December. Despite the speculation, De Gea remained unsigned.
According to recent reports, De Gea has his sights set on returning to LaLiga and is prepared to be patient for the right opportunity. Being a free agent, he can sign with any club outside of the transfer window.
Regarding potential destinations, the Sun suggests that both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are viable options. Real Madrid is currently without their first-choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, due to injury, and their backup, Kepa Arrizabalaga, is unlikely to be retained next season. This opens up the possibility for De Gea to fulfill his long-held desire to join Real Madrid, nearly a decade after a failed transfer attempt. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid, where De Gea began his professional career, is also mentioned. Despite having a top goalkeeper in Jan Oblak, De Gea could see himself as a valuable addition to the team, even if initially as a backup option.
