Barcelona has found its “most viable” Premier League manager. Replacement for Xavi

by LAVIZKID

Reports from Spanish media suggest that Roberto de Zerbi, currently managing Brighton, is seen as the most practical choice to fill the void left by Xavi at Barcelona.

As the end of the season approaches, Barcelona finds itself in need of a replacement for Xavi, who is departing after a lackluster campaign. The club acknowledges the necessity for a change in direction. However, Barcelona faces a dilemma as their options to succeed the club legend are scarce. Financial constraints prevent them from pursuing high-profile candidates like Xabi Alonso or Jurgen Klopp. Barcelona must explore internal solutions, such as Rafa Marquez, or search for budget-friendly alternatives. Although Hansi Flick and Julian Nagelsmann are mentioned as potential candidates, their availability remains uncertain.

Despite Barcelona’s president expressing a preference for a German coach, there is one exception—an Italian manager—who is considered the most viable option for the club, despite his current contract.

According to reports in Mundo Deportivo, Roberto de Zerbi, Brighton’s manager, fits this description. While acknowledging the difficulty of acquiring him due to his €10 million release clause, several factors make him a feasible choice. Notably, de Zerbi shares representation with Barcelona player Ronald Araujo, and there’s belief among Catalan officials that they could entice him to pursue a move to a club of Barcelona’s stature.

De Zerbi may feel that he has taken Brighton as far as possible, especially after a somewhat disappointing season compared to their previous successes. His recent dissatisfaction with Brighton’s January transfer dealings hints at potential internal discord.
