Romelu Lukaku, currently on loan at AS Roma from Chelsea, has reportedly agreed to a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia at the conclusion of the ongoing season.

Although excelling under Jose Mourinho at AS Roma, Lukaku’s future appears to be heading to the Middle East, despite his association with Chelsea. The Belgian striker, brought to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan in 2021 for a club-record fee, had an underwhelming stint both on and off the pitch.

Having spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and now showcasing his prowess at Roma with 11 goals this term, Lukaku’s potential move to Juventus or remaining at Roma seems uncertain. According to Italian journalist Fabio Santini, Lukaku has already committed to a substantial offer from Saudi Arabia’s Pro League for the upcoming summer transfer window.

This decision aligns with Lukaku’s limited prospects at Chelsea, as there were initial speculations about a possible retention by Mauricio Pochettino in the summer, but such notions have faded. While Roma fans appreciate Lukaku’s contributions, the likelihood of the club securing him permanently for a significant fee seems improbable. Similarly, Juventus appears unlikely to make a substantial financial commitment.

Contrarily, Saudi Arabian clubs have demonstrated a willingness to pay hefty sums for renowned players, presenting a suitable scenario for Chelsea if Lukaku indeed finalizes his move there.
