Chelsea’s manager gives the flop player a reality check amid a HORRIBLE goal slump.

Despite escaping his disappointing spell at Chelsea last summer, Aubameyang hasn’t found much success at Marseille. The former Blues flop joined the Ligue 1 side aiming to rejuvenate his career after minimal appearances at Stamford Bridge despite several different coaches during the previous season.

However, things haven’t unfolded as the Gabonese veteran might have anticipated. While he’s surpassed his goal count at Chelsea, scoring five times this term, the 34-year-old hasn’t made a significant impact at the Velodrome. Consequently, he’s faced a barrage of criticism from both media and fans.

Despite Aubameyang’s improved goal tally, the disappointment stems from his solitary goal in Ligue 1, coinciding with Marseille’s middling performance under Italy legend Gennaro Gattuso.

In response to the critics, Marseille president Pablo Longoria defended his star signing but also encouraged Aubameyang to introspect and improve his form.

Addressing the striker’s slump, Longoria remarked to RMC, “When I witness his daily training routine, I have full confidence. Aubameyang is a player of international caliber. Can he enhance his offensive prowess? Absolutely.”

“He needs to self-reflect and face reality. Will that happen? Yes. I’m certain. Especially because I observe his daily dedication, I witness the coach’s belief in his abilities… I believe this Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the same player we saw at Barcelona…”
