Broadcaster Richard Keys predicts that Liverpool might see the departure of their key player, Mohamed Salah, by the end of the season. Despite Liverpool securing Salah with a new contract that extends until the 2024-25 season, making him the highest-paid player in the club’s history, there’s ongoing interest from other clubs. Al-Ittihad, the Saudi Pro League winners from the previous season, made a substantial bid of up to £150 million for Salah, but Liverpool rejected it. However, Keys doesn’t believe that the pursuit of Salah is over.

Keys, in a discussion with Andy Gray on beIN Sports, suggests that it might be Salah’s final year at Liverpool, pointing out that despite his impactful contributions to English football, he hasn’t attained major individual awards like the Ballon d’Or. Keys emphasizes Salah’s incredible impact and questions whether Salah has received the full credit he deserves for his performances at Liverpool.

Despite signing a new contract, Salah continued to excel for Liverpool last season, scoring 30 goals across all competitions. However, Liverpool’s finish outside the top four meant they entered the Europa League this season, missing out on the Champions League. In the current season, Salah has already scored double figures in various competitions, notably excelling in the Premier League.

Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, had addressed previous rumors, emphasizing Salah’s commitment to Liverpool and refuting the speculations about a potential move. Nonetheless, Al-Ittihad might rekindle their interest in 2024. The Saudi team, under Nuno Espirito Santo, reinforced their squad with prominent signings but currently lag 11 points behind Al-Hilal, the leaders of the Saudi Pro League, after a streak of five winless games.
