Erling Haaland decides to follow Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid; Man City’s future is in doubt due to one issue

by LAVIZKID

Recent reports suggest that Real Madrid is eyeing Manchester City’s Erling Haaland to join their team next summer, following the anticipated addition of Kylian Mbappe this year. The latest updates shed light on whether Haaland would consider teaming up with Mbappe, given Mbappe’s pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid for the upcoming summer. Mbappe is set to sign a five-year deal with Real Madrid, forming part of their strategy to build a formidable attack.

In this context, Haaland is a top target for Real Madrid in 2025, considering the possibility of Man City losing him due to a release clause valued at approximately £171 million. However, reports from the Daily Mirror suggest that Haaland and Mbappe are not keen on playing together, as they see each other as long-term rivals for the Ballon d’Or.

Haaland had previously rejected the idea of joining Mbappe at PSG before his move to Man City, and he may not entertain the notion of moving to Madrid either, despite his interest in the club. Nevertheless, Haaland’s future at Man City is not entirely certain. While City aims to extend his contract until 2029 with improved release clause protection, Haaland seeks assurances about Pep Guardiola’s tenure as head coach before making any commitments.

With Guardiola’s contract expiring in 2025, Haaland is cautious about City’s managerial stability. While he can envision staying in the Premier League until 2027, City’s plans to extend his contract until 2029 may hinge on addressing Guardiola’s future beforehand. At just 23 years old, Haaland has already made a significant impact at City, scoring 73 goals in 80 appearances and contributing to their Champions League victory.

Despite City’s success, Real Madrid, with their illustrious history in the Champions League, remains a tempting destination for elite players like Haaland.
