Manchester United has reportedly been granted approval by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team to pursue two summer transfer targets. Towards the latter part of 2023, it was confirmed that INEOS boss Ratcliffe had struck a deal to acquire a 25 percent stake in the Old Trafford club. Reports indicate that Ratcliffe and his team will take charge of football operations, while the Glazers will focus on the commercial aspect.

Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, it seems that Manchester United, now under INEOS ownership, has set its sights on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and a seasoned striker. The desired profile for the striker includes a track record of scoring double figures in at least three seasons in a top-five league. While players like Victor Osimhen, Serhou Guirassy, Joshua Zirkzee, and Benjamin Sesko have been linked to the striker position, United intends to avoid a profile resembling that of Rasmus Hojlund. Despite initial challenges, Hojlund is gradually settling in and demonstrating his prowess. The team is scheduled to face Luton Town in their upcoming Premier League match on Sunday.

Ratcliffe and his INEOS team have given the green light for the pursuit of two players for the club. According to reports from 90 Min, United is set to target Crystal Palace’s French winger Michael Olise. Additionally, an experienced striker is also said to be on the shortlist. According to the report, Ratcliffe and INEOS define an experienced striker as someone who has consistently scored double figures in at least three seasons in a top-five league. Olise is expected to be a prominent option for the Old Trafford club once the summer transfer window opens.

Regarding the striker option, Manchester United has been linked with players such as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart, Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. However, it is understood that United is cautious about acquiring a striker similar to Rasmus Hojlund, who arrived last summer in a deal worth £72 million. Despite facing initial challenges in England, Danish international Hojlund is gradually finding his stride and goal-scoring form. Before Hojlund’s arrival, there were reports of United’s interest in Harry Kane, who eventually moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich.
