Sevilla has decided to exclude Manchester United loanee Hannibal Mejbri from their selection process for the foreseeable future. This decision comes amid reports in Spain indicating that he had a confrontation with a teammate, Mariano, during a recent training session, with rumors suggesting the dispute extended into the locker room.

Hannibal Mejbri, a 21-year-old midfielder, recently joined Sevilla on loan until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent move. Although he made his debut as a substitute in the 5-1 defeat against Girona, he was noticeably absent from the squad in the midweek Copa del Rey clash against Atletico Madrid.

Sevilla’s manager, Quique Sanchez Flores, shed light on the situation, stating that Mejbri needs time “to understand that he is at Sevilla and what it means.” Flores emphasized the need for young players like Mejbri, who find themselves in a demanding environment, to gain perspective from the outside before returning to the squad.

There are circulating rumors, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, that Mejbri’s exclusion is linked to a training session clash with Mariano. This speculation suggests that the altercation continued beyond the field and into the locker room. Mariano, too, was absent from the midweek cup defeat against Atletico, with Flores attributing his non-involvement to fitness issues.

Flores explained, “Mariano is not going to play today either; he has physical problems. He is a boy whom we see in training with difficulties moving, to do the things we want. He came to talk to us this week and told us that he did not have a good feeling, who was not feeling well. He is a boy who is not one hundred percent, and we cannot have him called up.”
