Raheem Sterling had a brilliant chance to put Chelsea in the lead against Wolves but failed to pass the ball to his teammates, resulting in Jose Sa stopping his shot. Fans on social media criticized Sterling for not passing to a teammate while he was in a goal-scoring position during Chelsea’s loss to Wolves.

Around the 30-minute mark at Molineux, Sterling seized upon a defensive error, dispossessed Joao Gomes, and charged towards Wolves’ goal with Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer alongside him. Despite having two teammates available on his right side as the goalkeeper approached, Sterling opted to go solo, taking a shot that Sa managed to save well, denying the hosts an early goal.

Although the Blues attempted to take advantage of the situation after Conor Gallagher regained possession, his subsequent shot didn’t trouble the Portuguese goalkeeper. Sa then exchanged heated words with Gomes for his error.

Immediately after the play, fans on social media questioned Sterling’s decision not to pass to one of his teammates. Some praised Sterling for his earlier performance but criticized his decision-making, labeling it as incredibly poor and disgraceful. Others compared this incident to Harry Kane’s failure to pass to Sterling during England’s World Cup semi-final against Croatia in 2018, considering Sterling’s choice even worse.
