Next Man Utd manager: Ratcliffe, Brailsford persuaded by former Premier League boss who’ll ignite a revolution, as Ten Hag’s firing timeline becomes clear

INEOS executives Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford are captivated by a former Premier League manager who is poised to bring a data-focused revolution to Manchester United, should he replace Erik ten Hag. Despite his previous setback at another club, their interest remains strong, as indicated in reports.

The pressure on Erik ten Hag is mounting due to a dismal start to the campaign. Manchester United’s early exits from Europe and the League Cup, coupled with a six-point deficit behind Manchester City in fourth place, have intensified the scrutiny on Ten Hag.

The team’s struggles include 12 defeats in 24 matches across various competitions this season. The Daily Mail suggests that if Ten Hag’s side suffers a heavy loss against Liverpool at Anfield, his position will face heightened scrutiny.

Recent reports from Spain indicated that the current Man Utd board favors the appointment of Julen Lopetegui if Ten Hag faces the sack. However, an update from Sky Sports reveals a different focus from incoming INEOS chiefs Ratcliffe and Brailsford.

For the time being, there are no active plans to dismiss Ten Hag. His job security is likely to remain until Ratcliffe’s anticipated acquisition of a 25 percent stake in the club is officially approved by the Premier League. Ratcliffe’s control and the significant role of INEOS director of sport, Sir Dave Brailsford, are contingent upon this acquisition.

Though the initial investment is set to be finalized soon, the Premier League’s final approval might take up to two months. Sky reports that no managerial changes are expected before INEOS completes its partial buy-out of the club.

However, once the acquisition is confirmed, Ten Hag’s future becomes uncertain. Sky notes that if results do not improve, Ten Hag might struggle to retain his position within the new club structure in the long term.

In the case of Ten Hag’s departure, Ratcliffe and Brailsford are seriously considering Graham Potter for the managerial role at Manchester United.
