Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Noni Madueke may depart Chelsea in the January transfer window due to his dissatisfaction with limited playing time.
Chelsea re-signed the promising 21-year-old earlier this year on a seven-year contract, but Madueke is reportedly eager to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Despite making only six Premier League appearances, with just one start this season, Madueke has been plagued by injuries and faces tough competition from players like Mykhaylo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, and Cole Palmer, hindering his chances of breaking into Mauricio Pochettino’s starting lineup.
Reports suggest that Madueke is keen on securing more game time and Chelsea might consider loaning him out in January. Several European clubs have already expressed interest in the England under-21 international.
Romano confirmed that Chelsea will discuss Madueke’s future in the upcoming weeks, hinting at the possibility of a loan move. Despite having a contract until 2030 with Chelsea, there’s speculation that he might depart to boost his chances of making it into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2024 Euros.
