It’s reported that Chelsea might not secure Corinthians’ talented midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, as Paris Saint-Germain shows interest. The Blues were expected to make January signings, especially with Mauricio Pochettino eager for a new center-forward. Despite Chelsea’s history of signing promising young talents, Moscardo, an 18-year-old considered among the world’s best teenage players, seems likely to slip away.

Last season, Moscardo made 16 appearances in Brazil’s top league, starting in 13 of those matches, displaying impressive performances given his age, despite not contributing much in attack. Reports reveal that Chelsea extensively monitored Moscardo recently, but Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid also show interest.

PSG has engaged with Corinthians to explore a deal for Moscardo, but the Brazilian club demands a record fee, surpassing their current sale record of around £17m. Fabrizio Romano, a reputable transfer journalist, suggests PSG’s pursuit of Moscardo in January is progressing significantly, as the player himself appears enthusiastic about joining PSG.

However, due to Corinthians’ high asking price and PSG’s determination, Chelsea reportedly won’t bid for Moscardo in January. Consequently, it seems increasingly likely that Moscardo will join PSG this winter, although Dortmund and Real Madrid might still express interest. Overall, Moscardo remains a player worth watching for his potential in the future.
